Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 12, 2026

Allergins runs the online shop at allergins.com. This policy sets out what we collect when you browse or order, why we hold it, who else sees it and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read: if a passage is unclear, write to support@allergins.com and we will explain it in plain words.

1. What we collect

Three kinds of information, and no more than an order needs:

  • Details you give us. Name, email address, phone number, shipping address and billing address when you place an order or open an account, plus anything you write in a support message.
  • Order records. The products bought, order numbers, delivery status, returns, refunds and the correspondence attached to them.
  • Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, device identifiers, the pages viewed, the site that referred you and the time of each visit.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information about you or your household, and we would have no use for it.

2. Payment details

Card payments are taken by Shopify Payments, which handles them over an encrypted connection to PCI-DSS standards. Full card numbers and payment credentials never reach our servers and are never stored by us. What comes back to us is confirmation that a payment succeeded, the method used, and the last digits needed to match a refund to the right card.

3. Why we hold it

  • To take, pack, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
  • To answer your messages and keep a record of what was agreed.
  • To detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised transactions.
  • To see which pages are used and make the shop work better.
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
  • To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it and only until you tell us to stop.

4. Who else sees it

We share the minimum with the third parties who make an order possible, and each may use it only for the job we give them:

  • The e-commerce platform that hosts this shop and its checkout.
  • Our payment processor, to take payments and issue refunds.
  • Shipping carriers, to get the parcel to your door.
  • Analytics and email providers, to measure site use and send order notifications.

We may also disclose information where the law, a regulator or a court requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our property or someone's safety. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never pass it to a third party for that party's own marketing.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

The shop sets cookies to keep your cart, remember preferences and measure traffic. Your browser settings let you refuse or delete them at any time; be aware that the cart and the checkout depend on some of them and will not behave properly without them.

6. How long we keep it

Order and contact records are kept for as long as needed to complete the order, deal with a return or dispute, and satisfy tax and accounting rules. After that they are deleted or stripped of anything that identifies you. Marketing consent is kept only until it is withdrawn.

7. Security

Traffic between your browser and the shop is protected by SSL/TLS encryption, access to order data is limited to the people who need it to do their job, and we apply administrative, technical and physical safeguards to the systems under our control. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised; what we can promise is that we do not keep what we do not need.

8. Your rights and choices

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it.
  • Have anything inaccurate corrected.
  • Ask us to delete your information, except where a legal duty requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw marketing consent whenever you like, through the unsubscribe link or by writing to us.

Send any of these requests to support@allergins.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on one, and we will respond within a reasonable period.

9. Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA)

We follow the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), which governs how private businesses in Canada handle personal information. We collect and use your information with your consent, for the purposes described in this policy. You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, though we cannot fulfil an order without the information it needs. You can request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask for corrections, and if you are not satisfied with our answer you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

10. Storage in the United States, and minors

Allergins is operated by a company based in the United States, so the personal information you provide is stored and processed in the United States, by us and by the service providers described above. There, it may be accessible to courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under United States law. By placing an order you consent to that transfer.

This shop is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with such information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the way we work changes. The revised version is posted on this page with a new effective date, and continuing to use the shop after it is posted means the new version applies to you.
